How much does a website cost in Ukraine: let's break down the price in parts
Why do identical-looking sites cost $400 and $4,000, what does the amount consist of, and what can you really save on without compromising the result.
"How much is the site worth" is like "how much is the repair." Until it is clear how many rooms and what exactly we are doing, any number will be either a hoax or a guess. Therefore, instead of the average temperature, let's analyze what the sum actually consists of.
Briefly
- Landing - from $400, multi-page site - from $700.
- The price is affected by volume, not "beauty": the number of pages, functions, who writes the texts.
- The most expensive thing in the project is not the design and not the code, but the uncertainty.
- A cheap site often costs more a year later. We explain why exactly.
What does the cost consist of?
1. Number of pages and states
A page is not just "another screen". Each has a structure, adaptive for three screen sizes, states of buttons and forms. Landing is one long screen for one action. A corporate site with eight pages is eight different tasks, which should also look like a whole.
Therefore, a jump from a landing page to a multi-page site is not "plus a few thousand", but almost doubling the work.
2. Level of design
There are three fair levels:
- A template for your brand. Ready grid, your colors and fonts. Fast and cheap, but the site will look like thousands of others.
- Individual design. Unique layouts of all screens for your content and your audience.
- Premium with animations and 3D. When the site itself should be an argument in favor of the company level.
The difference between the first and the third is a difference of tens of hours of work. Not in "inspiration".
3. Functions
Each function is a separate work with its own testing:
- CMS blog so you can add articles yourself
- second language with a switch
- forms with sending to Telegram or CRM
- online payment
- catalog with filters and shopping cart
The catalog is the most expensive of them. That is why creating an online store costs significantly more than a service site with the same number of pages.
4. Content
Most often, the item of expenses is underestimated. If you don't have texts and photos, you need to create them. Copywriting, selection and processing of images, sometimes shooting. These are actual hours and are either in the project budget or on your time.
5. Term
Urgent launch is more expensive not because "you can take more". An urgent project is placed ahead of others in the queue, and it is he who pays for it.
Which does NOT affect the price
A few myths that should be dispelled:
- "Complex animation is more expensive than simple." It is not the animation that makes it more expensive, but the number of screens where it needs to be implemented and tested.
- "A site on a constructor is always cheaper." The platform affects the speed of the build, but the structure, texts and design are still done by someone.
- "More pages = better SEO." Ten empty pages are worse than three meaningful ones. Search values value, not volume.
Why a cheap site is often more expensive
A classic story: a site for $150 from a freelancer. After six months, it turns out that:
- it is impossible to edit yourself, you have to pay for each one
- on the phone, half of the blocks left
- there are no source files, and the author does not get in touch
- the download speed is such that people leave without waiting
As a result, the site is redesigned from scratch. The total amount turns out to be more than if it were done right away, plus half a year was lost.
This is not an "expensive is always better" argument. This is an argument for seeing exactly what you're getting before paying.
How to save without harm
Real ways to reduce the amount:
- Start with the landing page. If you have one main service, you don't need a multi-page site yet. Will add later.
- Give your texts. You know your business better than any copywriter. Even a draft makes work significantly cheaper.
- Collect the photos yourself. Live photos from the phone often work better than stock photos.
- Put away the second language. It can almost always be added later, when it becomes clear whether it is needed.
- Don't take functions "in reserve". Online payment, which no one uses, is just money in the wind.
How much do we have?
Our guidelines are transparent:
- Landing - from $400, launch in 3-5 days
- Multi-page site - from $700
- Corporate with a blog and case studies - from $900
The exact amount for your task can be calculated in two minutes calculators on the prices page - without calls and registration. After a short discussion, the amount is fixed and does not change further.
How to check the contractor before payment
The easiest way is to ask to show the result to the money. We, for example, draw the main screen for free: you see the level of work on your own material, not on someone else's portfolio, and then you decide.
Another way is to look real running sites, which open live, and not Photoshopped images.
Summary
The price of the site is not a secret or a whim of the contractor. This is the volume of work multiplied by the level of execution. If you are told the amount without asking about the task, the number of pages and content - the number is taken from the ceiling.
And vice versa: when you understand what you are paying for, you can see where you can save, and where savings will turn into recycling.
